Happy Birthday, Chloe!

Ok, I'm starting a blog. I'm starting a blog. I'm starting a blog. Gotta keep repeating that. Maybe if I keep repeating that I'll be more committed to it (unlike those boring visits to the gym...)

So why am I starting this blog today of all days? Its Chloe's birthday and she turns 2 today. Almost hard to believe really, but when she looks at me and says "Sorry, Angel!" after poking me in the eye... its pretty apparent... she ain't one anymore.

Ok, the real reason why I'm starting this blog today was to show off some pictures of Chloe-bear to her Ninongs and Ninangs - I want you to see how she's growing up! (I've completely forgotten how to code in HTML and thought this would be the easy way out...). Plus, I also owe my cousins and friends pictures of Chloe as well...

Anyway, Chloe's doing ok today. She had a high fever this morning and a bad cough/cold - so we had to make an unscheduled trip to Doctora. So we're on antibiotics for 7 days. Ugh. Luckily, it isnt a battle anymore to give her medicine (read: we don't need to hold her down!) Even then, I hate that she's sick on her birthday. I hope the pic above shows you how she's doing today (well, not today EXACTLY but pretty close)...

Hope you got a chance to check out my previous posts that has the pictures from her birthday party... we had to have it last March 12, 2004 -- because clearly having a party in the middle of Holy Week was not something that would go well with the older folks. We had it at Action Kidz, a daycare/preschool located in Discovery Suites, Ortigas. It was so fun! The kids loved playing around, we ended up not doing games because we couldnt get them out of the romp room. I have now officially learned that kids do not care what your party program is, they prefer to just rumble and tumble all over the place! We had like 23 kids in there... ;-)

May I say... I absolutely love planning children's parties. Of course, we won't be doing this every year. Actually it was only meant to be a small party! Nevertheless, it was soooo fun. We baked cookies, made cupcakes (I also discovered that children really only like sprinkles and not much else on a cupcake), cooked spaghetti and fried chicken. And MINIMAL candy, which is what I wanted. We always end up taking home candy that I don't let Chloe eat anyway, so I thought forget that.

And now the ramblings of a proud mama... Chloe is real talkative now and absolutely adores INCADIBOYS (read: Incredibles). She also likes the movie The Cat in the Hat (which is basically Austin Powers dressed up as a cat). Chloe has a cute impression of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings (she'll hold my ring and whisper, "My precious!") (Note: people were worried that we had let her watch Lord of the Rings -- FYI, we didnt, my bro just taught her to say "My precious" and she got a kick of how everyone would laugh!)

My favorite moment... the other day she jumped on our bed to wake us up. I wouldnt get up, so she hugged my head and said, "I love you so much Mommy". Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Some how she had connected "so much" from "Thank you so much" to "I love you". I can't believe she managed to put that together.

She's so funny these days so whenever you're in town or in the area, stop over and talk to her. Of course it'll take a while for her to warm up to you (exception here is Ninang Mirzi!) but no worries. She still is weirded out by Uncle Rony and he's been around since like forever...

Anyway, it's almost the end of the day here in Manila. Chloe's still sick and I think the fever went up. She's got weepy eyes because of the colds. She doesnt feel like eating much and unfortunately, ice cream or popsicles are out of the question while she has a cough. Will have to make up for it some other day.

Catcha later. Gotta pop some antibiotics in the little darling's mouth...

The perfect action shot by Uncle Rony who got lucky with his camera. Thanks Rony!
