Daddy Louie stubs his toe on the corner of the TV desk and is practically writhing in pain, but unable to curse out loud as his 2-year-old toddler, Chloe, plays nearby with her toys. Louie falls to the bed, squirming in pain. Chloe jumps onto the bed, sees her Daddy and runs to him. She touches his face and softly says...
"It's ok Daddy. Its's all right. Everyone's gonna be happy for you."
Huh? We couldn't stop laughing. Even Louie as he was holding his poor toe. Truly, Chloe knows just what to say at the most appropriate moments.
We decided to spare us the trip to Glorietta to get Chloe's hair cut. Truthfully, those kiddie salons are highway robbery! Imagine, P250 to get your kid's hair cut. What's the science? Honestly, you are just paying a premium to have you kid WATCH BARNEY or whatever while she's getting the haircut. I figured, forget it.
I brought her to a new nearby (meaning 5 minutes) salon called Hair UK by Geoff Simpson (oh, di ba sosy!) The kiddie haircut was P180. So I thought, well, at least I don't need to drive too far. And it was such a fun experience because Chloe behaved most of the time!
She was such a trooper, smiling at everyone and lifting her head up, looking straight at the mirror. I was so proud! Ai Ai delas Alas, a local commedienne, passed by and said, "Ay ang cute!" Not that I care what she thinks, but any parent is jazzed when someone says their kid is cute.
The hair cut itself was pretty good too. It wasn't rushed and the stylist was really trying to treat it like a real adult hair cut (meaning he made sure everything was pantay and all - I imagine these senior stylists take pride in their work). The last ten minutes of the hair cut though had Chloe squirming. She wanted to get out of the Superman cape. And soonafter, that's what we did.
I thought it was such a fun experience. Here are a few pictures of the afternoon at the salon!
Chloe's Thought Bubble:
"Ok, they don't shampoo me at the kiddie salon! There's not much hair to shampoo, man!"

So we bought Chloe some stuff from 168 mall the other day. Its this glorious, glorious mall in Divisoria where things are uber-cheap but they don't look cheap. Take a look at Chloe's get-up!
There was the birthday celebrant...
There was music and dancing...
There was family...
Obviously there was food too. But I didn't take any pictures of that. (Folks, if you haven't guessed yet, these aren't the photos taken by the official photographer!) We also had quite a few missed cues for music and stuff for the program. But you know what, we had a great time when we weren't all stressing over the minute details. And it seemed like Lola had a great time as well. I mean, how many times can you turn 80?!?
Chloe wore her velvet evening dress from her Auntie Joy and boogied the night away with her dad. She was awake til after midnight. See how happy she was...
She absolutely loved partying with the adults!
You see the range of a child's emotion when they watch a riveting telenovela...
Ok, so it wasn't SUGO or Enkantadia or Kampanerang Kuba. Nope, we're loyal to Disney (wink, wink).
So Chloe was watching Monsters Inc last night (which incidentally is one of her favorite videos). And as usual, despite the fact that she's seen it a ka-jillion times, she still reacts. Funny thing is, now that she has a bigger vocabulary she has a running commentary on what's happening.
So I took the opportunity to take a few photos of her (I've been delinquent lately) and she gave me some nice photo ops. Here are a few photos of her on her toddler bed while she's watching Monsters. Enjoy!
Tita Beng is in town so Chloe and Kimmy decided to give her a little welcome dance... well, not so much a welcome dance as a welcome roll!!! Once one of the kids decided she wanted to roll on the floor, it was only a matter of time before the other one followed...
These two are sooooo cute together! Go get 'em, girls!
I have opted to change the template of Chloe's blog in honor of the fact that she is fascinated by the color BLUE. So here we are...
I dropped Chloe off at Times today and lo and behold! A surprise awaited the little squirt. Mom brings her upstairs... opens the door to Rony's room and to my surprise, there is a huge green tent in Rony's room! Its big enough to technically fit the entire Fortich family in it! (well maybe not Rony, he's kinda oink-oink now, hee, hee).
So what does Chloe do? She tells everyone she's a monkey and starts running around, making noise and falling flat on pillows in the tent! Clearly, she's in love with it. I personally thought it was really sweet of Mom and Dad to buy it for her (because heaven knows, they don't need a tent!)
Thanks Mom and Dad for the terrific surprise!
